Sometimes gratitude as a concept is exhausting, like nearly everything in our world -- another bazillion dollar industry and transactional at best. Sigh. Then again, I'm so grateful to have this place to come and read and muse and write my own musings. So grateful to have "found" you here. Your link list is especially great -- I'm listening to the sublime piano music as I type this.
I've avoided that Land Grab podcast largely because I operate under the assumption that the Métis won't get so much as a mention, despite our getting royally fucked by Stevens like everyone else, and I will be compelled to tear off another spiteful screed about erasure.
Meanwhile, Philip Aaberg was a close friend of Nicholas Vrooman and accompanied the little montage of images that played during the Métis celebration in Helena back in late September.
That sounds like an opportunity to write them and make the suggestion if they haven't thought of it; maybe that's something for me to do this week. The first episode (just it and the introduction are out so far) is almost all about the CSKT reservation and how it came to be and the Hellgate Treaty ...
How wonderful to know about Aaberg. It's nice that someone producing something beautiful is also a good human being.
"Appreciation" is a lovely word! It seems to involve more ... equality of spirit between giver and receiver, in a way? Yes -- like "service" vs. "help."

I'm grateful for our connection, too 💕 These are things worthy of the word. I absolutely love your writing and your spirit.

Excellent. I do like "grateful" as well, it rolls off my tongue quicker and more easily, but "appreciation" is great!
"Grateful" is a beautiful word -- like all words, I love exploring its complexity and what more life we can breathe into it.
Yes - beautifully stated!
